Carolina Caroline has a 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It has been in limited theaters since June. You have probably not heard of it.

The film follows a young woman who runs away with a charming con man across the American South, looking for her estranged mother and falling into crime along the way. It is Southern Gothic Bonnie and Clyde. Samara Weaving does the best work she has done in years. Kyle Gallner is very good beside her.

Magnolia Pictures put it in theaters quietly. It slipped past most people. It should not have.

Before this: Natural Born Killers for the crime road romance at its most unhinged. Or Badlands if you want something quieter and stranger.
