Enola Holmes 3 opened June 30. Philip Barantini directed. Millie Bobby Brown takes Enola to Malta to get married, and Sherlock goes missing in the middle of it. Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, and Himesh Patel all return.
Barantini, who made Boiling Point, turns down the steampunk comedy and turns up the action. The AV Club calls it an Indiana Jones-style adventure and gives it a B minus.
For fans of the first two who want the franchise to stop playing it safe. This one goes darker and asks Millie Bobby Brown to carry heavier material than either of the first two films.
Watch Boiling Point before this. It is a one-take pub thriller and it will tell you everything about what Barantini does under pressure.
