GKIDS is bringing Evangelion back to North American theaters for two nights only. July 21 is Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. July 22 is The End of Evangelion.
The 1997 theatrical finale arrived after the TV series ended. Hideaki Anno made it while he was publicly struggling, and that instability is in every frame. The result is one of the most ambitious animated films ever made.
If you have seen the series, you already know what you're getting. If not, the movie works on its own. The TV series is on Netflix, and it only gets better knowing the movie is waiting.
Tickets are on sale now at gkids.com and participating theaters. Two nights only.
Before this: Ghost in the Shell.
