Gangland opens July 3 in limited theaters. Director Vincent Grashaw follows Lou Diamond Phillips as Teddy Sharpe, a veteran tribal cop on a fictional Oklahoma reservation, tasked with tracking down a fugitive whose return is pulling young men into gang violence.
Phillips plays Sharpe as someone who knows exactly how little hope looks. The Hollywood Reporter called it a terrific showcase for Phillips, the kind of performance that earns awards. Critics have given it a perfect 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
For fans of Wind River or Dark Winds who want the movie version.
Watch either one first for context. Or go straight to Gangland.
Lou Diamond Phillips has been looking for a role like this. He found it on a reservation in Oklahoma.
