The Last Viking is in US theaters now. Mads Mikkelsen plays Anker, a man just out of prison after 14 years, trying to track down stolen money that only his mentally ill brother knows how to find.
Director Anders Thomas Jensen made Riders of Justice. This is the same absurdist dark comedy sensibility, the same deadpan violence, the same unexpected gut punch. The 94 percent on Rotten Tomatoes is not an accident.
For anyone who loved Riders of Justice or Men and Chicken. Mikkelsen at his most physically funny, which is different from Mikkelsen at his most menacing, and worth the trip.
