Lockbox opened July 3 in select theaters. Carla Gugino plays Ellen, a woman who moves to a rural town after her mother dies and takes in her cousin Winthrop, severely traumatized and being hunted by something no one can explain.
Daniel Stamm directed The Last Exorcism. He is back in the same territory here: quiet dread, people who don't know what they're dealing with, and a character you actually care about before anything goes wrong.
Gugino carries it. Katharine Isabelle, the Ginger Snaps lead, plays the neighbor who knows more than she tells.
