Masters of the Universe is in theaters now. Travis Knight's live-action reboot stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Jared Leto as a delightfully unhinged skull-faced Skeletor.

Critics gave it 67 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences gave it 86. That gap tells you everything. This is a funny, earnest fantasy adventure that knows exactly what it is. Galitzine's comedic timing turns out to be the best thing in it.

If you liked Galitzine in Red, White and Royal Blue, this is a completely different gear. He looks like He-Man. He sounds like He-Man. And somehow you root for He-Man, which should not be possible.

Watch the 1987 original with Dolph Lundgren before you go. It will only make this one look better.

The audience has spoken. 86 percent did not lie.
