Georgia Bernstein's debut Night Nurse opens July 10 after earning 76% on Rotten Tomatoes at Sundance this January. Cemre Paksoy plays a nurse at a serene retirement community who becomes entangled with her mysterious patient Douglas (Bruce McKenzie) as perverse scam calls begin unsettling the residents around them.
Critics are calling it a fascinating character study suggesting an early Atom Egoyan film with notes of Michael Haneke. The pacing is deliberate and the dread is quiet. Mimi Rogers co-stars alongside Eléonore Hendricks.
