Every time Count Orlok appears on screen in Nosferatu, Bill Skarsgård had already spent six hours in the makeup chair to get there.

Prosthetics designer David White spent nearly a year developing the look. The design elongated Skarsgård's head by an inch, extended his fingers to the edge of what was usable, and covered him in latex from head to toe.

The final scene of the film took 30 takes. Not because of a staging problem or a camera issue. Skarsgård was sweating through the layers of prosthetics and the whole thing had to be reset each time.

The film keeps landing in Backlot lists. If you have been saving it, this is the week to finally watch it. It streams on Peacock.
