Two Deadheads in the crowd at a Dead and Company show, Summer Tour documentary

Dead and Company played their final tour. Summer Tour follows Jerry and Annie, a couple who devoted themselves to being there for every show.

Director Mischa Richter grew up a Deadhead. He made a film that treats Deadheads as complex, self-aware members of a wandering commune. Chloe Sevigny produced it.

Summer Tour opens at IFC Center on Friday, July 17, with a Q&A with Richter after the screening. Tickets are available now at the IFC Center website. The film expands to theaters nationwide on July 23.

If you have never been to a Dead and Company show, this is the next best thing. If you have, you already know why this story matters.

Before this: Long Strange Trip (2017).
