People on Backlot keep adding The Lighthouse to their lists this month.
Robert Eggers shot this in black and white in a nearly square frame on a real island off Nova Scotia. Two lighthouse keepers, one lamp neither is allowed to touch, about 90 minutes until everything falls apart. Pattinson and Dafoe are both doing work here that doesn't look like anything else they have done.
